Andinapack honors innovation and academic talent that connects with the packaging industry through the Tres Rayas Awards

Fairs, in their multifaceted nature, go beyond being spaces for networking and business generation—they become platforms where academia and industry can come together to share, recognize, and project innovation. Within this framework, the Tres Rayas Awards stand out as a key component of the Andina Pack trade show powered by Anuga FoodTec, organized by Koelnmesse and Corferias, which will take place at the main exhibition center in Bogotá from November 4 to 7.
This international trade fair showcases solutions, technologies, and global trends in food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, packaging, packing, printing, and labeling. The awards bring in the academic and creative dimension by highlighting emerging ideas and innovations from students, entrepreneurs, and professionals. Together, these two platforms form an ecosystem of innovation and development for the regional industry, where the trade fair reflects a consolidated market and the awards anticipate what is to come.
In essence, the Tres Rayas Awards serve as a bridge between academia and the packaging industry, showcasing emerging talent through ideas and innovations in packaging and labeling. They act as a platform for the industry to discover fresh solutions and projects in development.
In this edition, the awards will be presented in three official categories:
STARTER – New Talent – Food and Beverage Packaging:
Aimed at undergraduate students who are developing creative and innovative proposals to rethink the way food and beverages are packaged and consumed. This category will award financial incentives in the form of gift cards valued at COP $4,000,000, $3,000,000, and $2,000,000 for first, second, and third place, respectively.
ADVANCED – Business Talent – Innovation in Packaging and Labeling:
A category in which Andina Pack exhibitors participate with packaging and labeling solutions that stand out for their innovation, functionality, or industry impact. In this category, a recognition trophy will be awarded to the most outstanding proposal.
PRO – Business Challenges – CCB Academia-Industry Challenges:
Teams made up of the company that proposes the challenge, a faculty advisor, and up to four senior undergraduate or graduate students. This category is led by the Printing and Packaging Cluster of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.
The awards will be presented on November 4 in the afternoon at Pavilion 3, Level 2, during a recognition ceremony that will highlight the most outstanding innovations and projects that bring differential value through a comprehensive perspective, acknowledging their creativity, feasibility, and real contribution to the packaging sector. Registration will be open until October 3, and the ceremony will be a unique opportunity to discover the initiatives that will shape the future of the packaging industry in the coming years.
In addition, the Tres Rayas Awards will feature the presence and curation of distinguished judges. As highlighted by Hasan Y?ld?z, Project & Sales Manager at Koelnmesse Colombia, the event organizer: “For us, it is essential to have a diverse and experienced jury. For the Tres Rayas Awards, we will have the participation of ‘Lucho’ Correa, Juliana Montoya, and Mario Germán Caicedo—representatives from academia, business, and industry—who will evaluate each proposal with a comprehensive perspective, highlighting not only creativity but also feasibility and the real impact it may have on the packaging sector.”
Lucho Correa: Graphic designer and creative director, founder and CCO of Lip, a design studio with international impact. He has worked for brands such as Bogotá Beer Company, Alpina, and Banco de Bogotá, earning awards such as the Cannes Lions Gold Lion, 22 Lápiz de Acero awards, and multiple recognitions from Communication Arts, LAUS, and Red Dot.
